Musculoskeletal ultrasound
Musculoskeletal ultrasound lets me see muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints in real time during the consultation. It is a fast, radiation-free and very accurate diagnosis that also guides treatments to reach the exact point of the injury.
Book appointmentWhen is it indicated?
- Shoulder, knee, hip, elbow or wrist pain
- Tendinopathies and muscle tears
- Suspected calcifications, bursitis or effusion
- Guidance for injections and interventional techniques
What does the procedure involve?
In the same visit I apply the ultrasound probe over the painful area, assess the structures in real time and explain what we see. It is painless, uses no radiation and lets us decide the treatment on the spot.
Frequently asked questions
Does ultrasound replace an MRI?
Not always, but for many tendon and muscle injuries it is just as useful or more, with the advantage of being done in the consultation and in movement. If another test is needed, I'll tell you.
